Be Part of the Movement to Save Sight

Retina South Africa is powered by people – individuals, families, communities, and organisations coming together to support those living with retinal conditions and vision loss.

Whether you give your time, your voice, or your support, you can help us build a more inclusive future and bring hope to those affected.

Every donation, no matter the size, helps us move closer to better treatments and improved support for those living with retinal conditions.

Your contribution supports research, peer mentoring, and community programmes across South Africa.

Save Our Sight Campaign

Save Our Sight Campaign

The Save Our Sight Campaign is a national initiative focused on raising awareness, supporting individuals with vision loss, and funding research into life-changing treatments.

This is more than a fundraising campaign – it is a movement centred on:

  • Education and awareness
  • Community support and connection
  • Breaking stigma around vision loss
  • Advancing research and innovation

How to take part:

  • Members are automatically included
  • The general public can participate by donating R250 per year

Where Your Contribution Goes

Every rand you contribute helps to:

  • Fund research into inherited retinal conditions
  • Support families navigating vision loss
  • Provide essential services, peer mentoring, and education
  • Advance the search for new treatments

Together, we are working towards a future where retinal conditions can be better understood, treated, and ultimately prevented.

This project is registered with the National Lotteries Board Scheme No 00187-22

Partner with Us

We’re building something bigger than ourselves; real change, right here at Retina South Africa. And we can’t do it alone.

We are always looking to partner with businesses, organisations, and individuals who share our commitment to improving the lives of people affected by retinal conditions.

Your support helps fund research, expand services, and strengthen our community.

Here’s what you get:

  • Regular donors: your name in our newsletter, plus dedicated articles spotlighting you; and dedicated social media posts too.
  • Named sponsors: headline your brand at events, on flyers, in videos; people will see you’re part of the impact.
  • Plus: logo placement on our site, shout-outs across platforms, and Section 18A tax-deductible certification on request (if it qualifies, just ask).

Cash, time, skills, goods: whatever you bring, we’ll make it count.
