JAMES CAPE – RETINA SA CHAIRMAN 2006-2021
It is with great sadness that we bring you the news of the passing of our dear Chairman, James Cape.
James spent the last 35 years working to ensure that clinical trials and treatments will be accessible to all South Africans with retinal vision loss.
James was former Treasurer and Branch Chairman of the Gauteng Branch, he became National Chairman in 2006 and was a delegate to Retina International.
He worked at Standard Bank as a Senior Systems Manager and showed how technology could ensure a visually impaired person copes in the corporate environment.
He introduced a governance code with operating procedures to Retina SA that will ensure his legacy of perfection and professionalism lives on.
His actions inspired others to dream more, learn more and become more.
He will be sorely missed by all those who knew him.
