Historic Participation of Visually Impaired Cyclists at Dis-Chem Ride for Sight 2025
Retina South Africa is proud to host a landmark cycling event, the Dis-Chem Ride for Sight, this Sunday, featuring the largest ever participation of blind or visually impaired cyclists in South Africa. A total of 48 visually impaired cyclists and their pilots will take to the roads, with 7 teams entering the gruelling 116 km category and the rest in the 62 km category, marking a first for many.
This event not only showcases the indomitable spirit of our participants but also highlights the invaluable contributions of volunteers, sponsors, and the efforts of Linsay Engelbrecht and Gavin Gilpatrick in empowering visually impaired individuals through cycling.
For media inquiries, please contact the Retina Head Office at headoffice@retinasa.org.za.
