Manny brings extensive experience in the disability sector to his new role, having held various leadership positions at local, provincial, national, and international levels of numerous organisations for many years. His journey with Retina South Africa began at the age of 8 when he was diagnosed with Stargardt’s Dystrophy (a juvenile-onset form of macular degeneration). Over the past three decades, Manny has actively contributed to various committees and boards within the organisation and beyond, refining his skills, knowledge and temperament throughout his development.

As an admitted attorney of the High Court since 2013, Manny has managed a law firm in Cape Town for over a decade. His deep understanding of compliance and regulatory processes, and expertise in commercial, contract, and human rights law will be invaluable in his new role.

Manny possesses a strong understanding of the organisation’s history, core values and culture, and a clear vision for the organisation’s future.

In his new role, Manny will be responsible for leading Retina South Africa into its next phase of growth, focusing on innovation, strategic partnerships, market expansion and growth of the organisation’s footprint. We are confident that Manny’s leadership and expertise will be instrumental in driving the organisation to greater heights.

One of Manny’s favourite quotes comes from the inimitable Steve Jobs, who said; “The only way to do great work is to love what you do.”

Manny certainly loves Retina South Africa and is passionate about the disability sector, which is evidenced by his decades of unwavering commitment to the organisation and the sector.

We are proud and excited for this new chapter in our organisations journey.
